Occupational Therapy Team Assessment
When you are referred to Essential Home Health for occupational therapy, you will be examined thoroughly by a professional occupational therapist. This assessment examines your medical condition, functional ability, and previous level of function. Additional testing may be required to determine the following:
- Strength
- Range of motion
- Coordination
- Fine motor skills
- Cognition
- Sensation
- Visual perceptual skills
- Self care evaluation
- Previous role evaluation (ie parenting, employee, etc)
Following your initial evaluation, you and your therapist will discuss your specific goals and design a treatment plan based on the findings. Treatment will be tailored to enhance your self-care independence.
