What Is Wound Care?

Wound care is the process of preventing, diagnosing, and treating wounds of a patient usually in a hospital. Because there are so many different types of wounds, and because they can affect health in so many different ways, this is a large and complicated subject for self-treatment to a patient and must be done in a hospital. Wounds can be complicated by other causes, such as infection, which can lead to more serious health problems to the patient.

What are the benefits of wound care?

Many people in each community have received first aid training and are capable of treating small wounds either on their own or with the assistance of another person in the community. However, extreme caution must be exercised in order to avoid the wound from getting inflamed. Wound infection therapy should be administered in a hospital by a healthcare expert if we find out that there are indicators that a wound has gotten infected and take proper medicine.

Healing Treatment

Something as simple as a burn, a cut, a nasty knock, or even a tumble can result in several forms of wound. These include both predicted and unforeseen events such as a fall. People may have wounds which we find as a result of  a surgical operation undergone in the hospital. The most basic wound healing treatment consists of drugs, cold packs, relaxation, and bathing the affected region thoroughly to ensure good sanitation of the infected area. However, it is possible that the initial treatments will fail to cure the wound healing completely, especially if the wound was caused in a hospital by a physician during a surgical procedure. In such cases advanced services are required and can be provided by us contact our home health care center.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Pure oxygen is inhaled in a compressed environment, which is known as hyperbaric oxygen therapy.  Decompression sickness, which is a potential risk of scuba diving, can be treated using hyperbaric oxygen therapy in a hospital, which is a well-established treatment. Aside from serious infections, air bubbles in your blood vessels, and wounds that may not heal as a result of diabetes or radiation exposure are also illnesses that can be treated with hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment center chambers are designed to provide two to three times the pressure of regular air in comparison to normal air pressure. Under these circumstances, your lungs can absorb significantly more oxygen than would be feasible if you were to breathe pure oxygen at normal air pressure alone and speed up the wound healing. When the blood of the patient transports this additional oxygen throughout their body, it aids in the battle against infection and the production of compounds known as growth factors and stem cells, which aid in the wound healing process. Schedule an appointment with us for hyperbaric oxygen treatment.
