The Tribune Tower is a 463-foot-tall (141-meter) neo-Gothic skyscraper with 36 floors located at 435 North Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Illinois, USA. The worldwide design competition for the tower, which was built between 1923 and 1925, became a landmark event in twentieth-century architecture.
The Chicago Tribune, Tribune Media, and Tribune Publishing were all housed in the tower. WGN Radio (720 kHz) broadcasted from the building until June 2018, when it relocated to 303 Wacker Drive. On June 18, 2018, the last WGN Radio transmission left the Tribune Tower. The lower level was once home to the big restaurant Howells & Hood (named after the building’s architects), which has since closed[2], with a patio overlooking nearby Pioneer Court and Michigan Avenue. The building also housed CNN’s Chicago office. It is a Chicago Landmark and contributes to the Michigan-Wacker Historic District.
